Qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapists

Counselling at Listening Post as a volunteer qualified counsellor or psychotherapist can offer you a regular practice, in-house supervision, and the support and companionship of colleagues. Our qualified counsellors find a placement at Listening Post enables them to gain the post-qualification practice hours needed for accreditation, and our annual programme of seminars provide further professional development. Our counsellors are drawn from a range of counselling modalities.

We do ask that you be willing to commit to a minimum of two years counselling for us.

Student Counsellors and Psychotherapists

Listening Post offers placements to about fifteen students annually. Placements last for two years, at the end of which students may be invited to remain with Listening Post after qualification. In-house supervision is provided, along with an annual programme of seminars which Listening Post students can attend at a reduced rate.

If you wish to be considered for a student placement, please submit an application form. Successful candidates will be invited to attend one of our two annual selection days, where they will be interviewed and asked to conduct a role play.
