We run a range of professionally delivered counselling training courses ranging from half day seminars to fully certified qualifications. We offer the following trainings:

An Introduction to Listening Skills and Theory

A one term, 30 hour course held in the spring and delivered at Listening Post, Gloucester. This course is suitable for those who wish to learn initial listening skills in order to help other people, whether in a voluntary, church or employed setting. The course may help you to decide whether you wish to progress further and train to become a counsellor.

Foundation Course in Counselling

Certificate in Counselling Skills (Level 2)
Certificate in Counselling Studies (Level 3)
Validated by the CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body)

A three term, 180 hour course held in the autumn and delivered at Listening Post, Gloucester. This course will enable students to relate theory and practice and will give opportunity for reflection within a Christian framework. It will provide training in inter-personal skills and communication for people who have pastoral, training or supportive roles in churches and in the wider community.

These two certificates will provide a recognised Introduction to Counselling Skills and Theory for those wishing to apply to local colleges/institutions in order to pursue a full counselling training to Foundation Degree or Diploma level.

Training evenings: Mondays 6:00pm – 9:30pm (term time) and 9 Sunday workshops 2 -8 pm

Cost:  £1100
